Scientists are struggling to explain the discovery of an ‘alien’ corpse near a nuclear power plant.
The body, said to have a ‘mysterious skull’, was found on the banks of the River Kovashi by two locals on Sunday.
They came across the baffling creature in the Russian town of Sosnovy Bor – a conurbation built in 1958 for workers at the Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant.
Experts have so far no idea what it is, reports the Express.
The locals who found the body initially thought it was a discarded mutant chicken embryo, local media say.
One researcher was quoted as saying: “It seems that this body is neither fish nor fowl – this creature has a mysterious skull, no neck and wings.”
The body was examined by experts from the Institute of Biophysics in Krasnoyarsk, who failed to shed any light on the organism.
Biologist Yegor Zadereev reportedly said: “Extensive studies are needed to determine what kind of creature or organism it is.”
The body is expected to be sent to Moscow for further tests.
However Alien investigators are convinced it is not of this earth.

Scott C Waring, who edits UFO Sightings Daily, said: “This tiny alien body was found near a river in Russia and has no resemblance to any animal known.
“Russian scientists are confused over what it could be and said they need to wait for the results of the tests, which are probably DNA I assume.”
